Needlepoint Robo is my embroidery project for e-embroidery workshop organized by Pixelversity, held at Pixelversity office at Helsinki Cable Factory on 17.-18.3.2012. The workshop explored the cossovers of traditional embroidery and electronics, combining crafting traditions with open design and DIWO (Do It With Others) attitude.

Jazz-birds

Jazz-crow pattern

Jazz-birds is a collection of 10 amigurumis (crocheted stuffed animals) inspired by beat generation, jazz, NYC and Leonard Cohen – specially by these lines from his song Famous Blue Raincoat:

New York is cold, but I like where I’m living
There’s music on Clinton Street all through the evening.

The two birds in the picture, Beat-tit (on the left) and Jazz-crow (on the right) participated the Plush You! 2010 exhibition in Seattle, US.

The Jazz-crow is now available as a free pattern in two languages, English and Finnish.
